Context

‘Remus’ is the British Museum’s magazine for children and young people, full with facts and stories, quizzes and craft activities for the respective ages groups.

Audience

The magazine is distributed three times a year to the members of the Museum’s Young Friends scheme, which is geared towards families with children between 3 and 15 years.

Challenge

To motivate the young audiences to engage with the topics from the Museum, the magazine has to present the content in a way that feels fun and playful.

Solution

For the magazine, I developed a graphic system based on a strong and vibrant colour palette. When selecting images I am focusing on objects that appeal to the audience (eg. strong colours, animals), and I am using illustrations to bring some of the more abstract content to life.
